Frequently asked questions

Answers before
you have to ask.

Based on the questions laboratories ask us most often about calibration, certificates, scheduling, and service.

Still have a question?
01Are you ISO/IEC 17025 accredited?+

Yes. Pipette Master LLC is an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited calibration laboratory through PJLA, Accreditation No. 121644. Our accredited service provides NIST-traceable, audit-ready results within our approved scope.

02What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 service?+

Level 1 includes preventive maintenance, cleaning, leak and function testing, two-point gravimetric calibration, a PASS/FAIL report, label, and one-year service warranty. Level 2 is intended for clinical, GLP, GMP, and audit requirements and includes an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited certificate with reported measurement data and uncertainty.

03How much does pipette calibration cost?+

Published single-channel pricing is $20 per unit for Level 1 and $35 per unit for Level 2. Multichannel pipettes, repeaters, pipette aids, dispensers, repairs, and other laboratory equipment are quoted according to equipment type, quantity, and service requirements. Bulk pricing may be available.

04Do you provide on-site calibration?+

Yes. We provide scheduled on-site calibration to reduce downtime and keep instruments close to your laboratory. We serve customers in Houston, throughout Texas, and at locations across the United States.

05Can we mail in our pipettes or arrange pickup and delivery?+

Yes. Customers may choose on-site service, mail-in service, or pickup and delivery where available. Same-day or next-morning return may be possible for local batches when arranged in advance.

06How long does calibration or repair take?+

Turnaround depends on quantity, equipment condition, parts, location, and certificate requirements. Routine local batches are often completed quickly. Typical repair turnaround is 48–72 hours; major repairs may require 5–7 days. We will confirm timing before service begins.

07What brands and models do you service?+

We calibrate and repair all major pipette brands and models, including single-channel, multichannel, electronic, repeater, dispenser, and pipette-aid equipment. Common manufacturers include Eppendorf, Rainin, Gilson, Sartorius, and Thermo Fisher Scientific.

08What is included in preventive maintenance?+

Service may include complete disassembly, internal and external cleaning, piston inspection and polishing, lubrication, seal or O-ring replacement as needed, leak testing, functional testing, adjustment, calibration, and a service label.

09What information is included on the calibration certificate?+

Depending on the selected service, documentation may include as-found and as-left data, raw measurements, mean, accuracy, precision or %CV, measurement uncertainty, traceability information, equipment identification, calibration status, and the technician or authorized signatory approval.

10Can you meet ISO 8655 or our custom testing requirements?+

Yes. Testing volume points, replicate counts, and acceptance limits can be customized to your quality system or contract requirements. Tell us whether you require ISO 8655 testing, accredited certification, specific volumes, or a customer-defined specification when requesting a quote.

11Do you repair pipettes, or only calibrate them?+

We provide both calibration and repair. Minor maintenance and common wear parts may be handled during service. If a major component is required, we will explain the issue, timing, and repair cost before proceeding.

12How do we schedule service and what paperwork do you accept?+

Submit the service-request form with your equipment counts, location, preferred dates, and certificate requirements. We can work with institutional purchase orders and provide common vendor documents such as a W-9, insurance certificate, accreditation certificate, and formal quote when requested.

13Do you provide a warranty?+

Level 1 service includes a one-year service warranty. Warranty coverage applies to the completed service; damage, misuse, contamination, or unrelated replacement parts may require a separate evaluation.

14What happens if a certificate or calibration label needs correction?+

Contact us with the equipment ID or serial number and describe the discrepancy. We will review the calibration record and provide a corrected certificate or label when a correction is confirmed.
